When we start a new Coaching Series with a Team Member the Scum Master has to first establish the base for this coaching process. The Coach aka Scum Master must first establish trust, and a good relationship and check if the Coachee aka Team Member is in the right state of mind for the coaching. Coaching means Change and one has to be ready and prepared for this change. It is the responsibility of the Scrum Master to not start any (personal) transformation without ensuring that the base for this change is given. Otherwise, the coaching process will either take a lot more time and energy for both Coachee and Coach or will fail in a very bad way with unforeseeable consequences. This is why we discussed the prerequisites of the coaching process in the second part of the series.

In the third part, we will now focus on building trust and relationships. This will help you and your coachee to better work together in the coaching process and ease any stressful situations in the coaching sessions.
